FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the platform

What is The Solar Guild?

The Solar Guild is the parent institution developing a modern guild for people and organizations. It connects clear objectives, agreed terms, coordinated work, relevant feedback, and records of specific results.

What is SGUILD?

SGUILD is the Objective platform under The Solar Guild. The live platform contains Objectives, Openings, Quests, Charters, and related workspaces, but not every workflow is yet proven end to end.

What is an Objective?

An Objective is a specific desired result. In the working model, it should state who benefits, who owns the relevant decisions, what terms apply, how the result will be reviewed, and what completion, renewal, or stopping means.

What is the Farm of Gardens?

The Farm of Gardens is an operating part of The Solar Guild. In SGUILD, it is the portfolio for durable services, programs, ventures, organizations, and people-led public initiatives. Accepted Gardens are current Gardens, not tentative labels; they remain in the Farm until deliberately rested or pruned. An Objective is organized around one clear result, while a Garden gives work worth maintaining a home across useful cycles. Each Garden should name who benefits, who stewards it, what participation terms apply, what will sustain it, and what evidence would justify continuing. The Solar Guild's resources remain institutional assets committed to public purpose, not personal property. Stewards may direct them broadly under the core principles without transaction-by-transaction bureaucracy, but that is conditional institutional authority, not private ownership or a personal control claim. Gardens may earn revenue or profit and pay contributors well under clear, contribution-linked terms. Earned compensation is not extraction. Institutional property and residual value stay institutional; surplus means only what remains after operating costs, taxes, and declared participant obligations, and that surplus is reinvested. No one may turn authority into ownership or self-awarded benefit. The adopted commitment requires future structures to bind leaders and successors and prevent weakening through transfer or amendment. Those enforcement structures are not yet complete and are not enforced by the current platform.

What are the Weaver Path and weaving?

The Weaver Path is a work-based route for developing systemic-integration capability. Weaving means understanding how people, processes, information, tools, incentives, and constraints interact, then mapping a working system, diagnosing a bounded problem, testing a responsible improvement, and leaving a usable handoff. Participants develop the capability through real work, repeated practice, human feedback, and verified results rather than a required university degree or expensive formal program. A first bounded practicum exists, but the complete training system is still under development. It is not an accredited engineering program, does not replace a degree or license, and does not guarantee work or professional recognition.

Who is SGUILD for?

SGUILD is intended for people seeking experience, learning, paid opportunities, or collaborators; small businesses with bounded projects or recurring coordination problems; and larger organizations testing clearer cross-team, cross-shift, or contractor workflows.

What can I do today?

You can create an account, inspect the live platform, read the Charter, request a Work & Career Conversation, begin a self-directed Quest, or submit one concrete organizational problem for fit review. The contractor-coordination and compensated-capability tests remain proposals.

What role does The Solar Guild play in workplace matters?

The Work & Career Conversation offers private, employer-neutral support with one work or career question. The Solar Guild does not contact an employer, decide who is right, bargain, process grievances, make employment decisions, or collect confidential employer information through that service. Any materially different role would require a separate public, legal, and governance decision.

How are payment, ownership, and confidentiality handled?

People may participate as employees, contractors, paid specialists, or other transactional contributors without adopting any philosophy of The Solar Guild. Before work begins, its written scope should state payment or volunteer status, contribution-linked compensation or upside, ownership, access, confidentiality, review, and stopping terms. Earned compensation is not extraction, productive commercial work must not be disguised as unpaid experience, and a paid opportunity exists only when its specific terms are actually published. SGUILD does not presently verify every private arrangement.

Does one completed Objective prove a person can do a job?

No. A record describes one contribution under stated conditions. It may support a later decision, but it is not a universal score of a person's ability, character, or future performance.

Is The Solar Guild affiliated with LinkedIn?

No. No LinkedIn integration, badge, verification, endorsement, affiliation, or partnership exists today. The goal is to complement LinkedIn, not replace it. LinkedIn provides professional identity, relationships, discovery, communication, and broad opportunity; The Solar Guild's narrower role is a participant-controlled, correctable record of one bounded contribution. The long-term goal is an authorized, user-initiated way to carry such a record into LinkedIn if LinkedIn chooses to support it. Any official sharing feature, add-in, badge, credential, or API flow requires LinkedIn's written authorization. The Solar Guild does not scrape LinkedIn, automate member accounts, or reconstruct its professional graph.

Where can I read the full working model?

SGUI.FYI is the official public knowledge base for The Solar Guild. It explains the Objectives, research, safeguards, current status, and open questions in greater depth.
